David has been in financial services for 30 years. He set up Northumbria Financial Management in 1994 as an Independent Financial Adviser, then latterly as a Partner Practice of St. James's Place Wealth Management in 2011.
David, who was a Business Studies teacher before he entered Financial Services, has built up a considerable breadth of knowledge and experience in the field, and has lost none of his enthusiasm for getting the best for our clients. Indeed, many of our existing clients have remained with Northumbria Financial Management ever since David set up the Practice in 1994; we feel that this is a reflection on the level of our client satisfaction.
In David’s spare time, he enjoys taking his eldest son, Christopher, for long walks along the sea front. Christopher has severe special needs – although his walking skills can’t be compromised, he certainly keeps David active!
David is a fully accredited member of the Society of Later Life Advisers, (SOLLA), and is a specialist in the area of Later Life Advice.
Andrew joined Northumbria Financial Management after graduating from Teesside University with a degree in Criminology and became a Director of the Practice in 2018.

He is committed to helping his clients achieve their financial objectives and securing their financial futures. Andrew’s key specialisms are: Retirement, Investment and Estate Planning. He also holds the Certificate in Pension Transfer Advice. Andrew is currently working towards Chartered status and hopes to achieve this during 2019.

William joined the Practice in 2014, having gained a degree in Mathematics from Manchester Metropolitan University. William provides personal and tailored advice to meet our clients' circumstances and aspirations. With his mathematical background, William is passionate about giving bespoke and tax efficient advice to clients in areas such as: Estate, Investment and Retirement planning.
William is continuing his professional development towards Chartered Financial Planner status and hopes to achieve this later in 2019.
Outside of work, William enjoys a range of activities such as golf, climbing and cooking for friends and family.
A graduate in German and Business from Leeds University, Claire joined the Practice in 2018. She previously worked for the NHS as an Information Project Co-ordinator and in Human Resources. Claire is responsible for the day to day running of the Practice, business submission and ensuring our clients receive a high level of personal service.
Claire has recently joined the St. James’s Place Paraplanning Academy, where she will undertake training and professional examinations towards a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. She successfully passed her first regulatory exam in May 2019. At the end of the 12-month programme, she will be able to assist David, Andrew and William in helping to prepare advice for our clients' financial planning needs.
In Claire’s spare time she enjoys keeping fit by playing football, as well as spending time with friends and family. She is also enjoying wedding planning, as Andrew and Claire are getting married in July 2020!
Rose, David’s wife, works part time in a clerical capacity whilst providing key back office support within the Practice. Rose is a valued member of the team and is known to many clients of the Practice.
Outside of work, Rose very much enjoys reading, all things historical and spending time with her family.
